Created: 12/31/2007 7:51:45 AM

3 Piggs Poker’s Bad beat Jackpot has steadily climbed and making its way up to hit the R500 000 mark. It last went off on Sunday, 23 September 2007 on a 6 seater, R1/R2 table called Proudly Today. The winner, RockSpider, walked away with a whopping R29,280.54. The Jackpot is breaking records as the biggest Bad Beat Jackpot in the 3 Piggs Poker Room.
“The poker room buzz is at an all time high and you can feel the tension grow as all the players want to be there for the toppling of the biggest Bad Beat Jackpot in Rands. Who would have thought, you actually want a bad beat.” Says Sandy Koor, Poker Manager at 3 Piggs Poker.
Bad beat is a term that means having an outstanding chance of winning a bet, only to still lose. There are only 4 requirements to win the 3 Piggs Poker Bad Beat Jackpot. Firstly four or more players must be dealt into the hand. The losing hand must be Four-of-a-Kind - 8's or better. The hand of the winner and loser must include the hole cards and the hand must go to a showdown. The hand must have contributed to the jackpot to qualify.
The payout structure works as follows, 10% is paid back to 3 Piggs Poker in proportion to how the players have contributed to the Jackpot. 20% is used to seed the next Jackpot. 70% is used for Player winnings of which half is paid to the loser with the Bad Beat hand, 25% to the winner of the hand and 25% to the other Players who actively participated in the hand. Be sure to play on the tables marked “Bad Beat Jackpot” – you can download the software at www.3piggspoker.com

A night to remember!!

Created: 12/21/2007 2:24:04 PM

On Thursday, 13th December 2007, 3 Piggs Poker, Piggs Peak Casino and Volcanic Gold got together to throw a truly memorable end of year bash for our top end players.

Picture a scene from the roaring 20?s?The World Renowned Rovos Rail ? the most luxurious train in the world, gleaming with old world grandeur as a backdrop to welcome drinks and hors d?ouevres.

Guests soon got into the swing of things when they chose their accessories. There was a selection of feather boas, beads, bracelets, hair pins, cigarette holders and elegant beaded headbands, as well as some personal attention from a make up artist for the ladies. The gentlemen chose their hats, waistbands, bow ties and cigars, all the while being serenaded by some jazzy numbers by the violinist.

After donning our feathers and finery, we boarded the Rovos Rail. Amid the traditional furnishings and period d?cor, we were whisked away by the grande dame of steam travel for our 3 hour trip of Pretoria and surrounds. Dinner was a lavish 5 course silver service affair, and guests were entertained by Conrad Koch, a pupper master, raconteur and all round good fella.

Guests were free to explore the luxurious suites aboard the train, and strangers soon became friends over whiskeys, fine Cigars and Cognac in the lounge cars.

After a truly memorable experience, we arrived back at our station where we disembarked. Guests were presented with Sepia photographs of themselves and their partners in front of the Rovos Rail, as a memento of a magical evening, and their gift boxes from 3 Piggs Poker, Piggs Peak and Volcanic Gold.

We hope that you?ll join us next time round.

APPT Sydney 2007 - Day 1 Flight 1 update

Created: 12/13/2007 2:43:15 PM

Levy's run of good cards seemed to have stood him in good stead - as he took down another fantastic pot with a full house of sevens full of eights!

Luigi A'Preda took the lead into the 10th Level (600/1200 with a 200 ante) with approximately 250,000 chips, with Grant Levy and Terrence Chan closely chasing him.

Terrance's chase paid off going into the 11th level (800/1600 with a 200 ante), when he took the lead from A'Preda. Chan, in relief in getting away from a hand that could have hurt his stack, jokingly remarked: "I've won every tournament I've ever played in Australia" He was referring to his short handed victory at his only appearance in the APPT Sydney Preliminary events.

With only 30 players remaining, Day 1 Flight 1, had claimed several feature players including World Champions Chris Moneymaker and Greg Raymer. Raymond Rahme, who held the chip lead for the greater part of the day was eliminated on pocket rockets on the "heaviest" table in the venue, where 4 of the chip leaders battled for a number of blind levels.

Aces come back to haunt Rahme - APPT Sydney 2007

Created: 12/13/2007 2:28:17 PM

After winning a fantastic pot with aces earlier in the day, the bullets came back to haunt Rahme!

Rahme, who was chip leader for a considerable part of the day, was holding pocket Aces - but they were unfortunately not enough to hold up to Grant Levy's set of Queens.

This propelled Levy to the chip lead of more than 200,000.
